An Empirical Analysis of the Impact of Social Support Network on Life Satisfaction of the Poor in Rural Areas: Focused on the Recipients of National Basic Livelihood Security Program for Hoengseong District

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the general characteristics of the basic livelihood security recipients and also to find out how frequency of contact with the structural properties, instrumental and emotional support with functional properties by each type of support network (family, neighborhood, Social welfare officers, visit the service provider) affect life satisfaction of people suffering from poverty in Hoengseng district. On the contrary, previous studies have focused on the informal support networks, this study closely identified formal support system of municipal government including informal support system. All age groups were targeted beneficiaries for this research and group analysis was performed by Population 65 years and over and other. Results of this analysis, instrumental and emotional support positively influence on life satisfaction of recipients in poor areas. These results are similarly been found to each group separated by age group in the specific analysis. Finally, this study discussed proposed policy that the public network including a formal support that can be enhanced on the basis of these findings.
